I’m back in the home office after a great trip to the Midwest Regional Coaches Conference in Des Moines, Iowa. First, some shout-outs. Laura Berman Fortgang, Cheryl Procter-Rogers, Suzanne Cordes-Hoelterhoff, and Jim Smith, it was so good to see you. And to the new faces, including Mary Cravets and Samantha Dye, I’m glad our paths crossed.
The trip was also a reminder of something. Most days, I work from a quiet home office. Then I walk into a room full of rambunctious coaches who want to hug and love on each other. That’s a big shift. A wonderful one, but a shift.
It took a bit of self-reminding to get through it well. Lots of hydration. Good food. Good friends. Some basic self-care that’s easy to forget when you’re running on conference energy. I really appreciated the opportunity, and I came home full.
And the beat goes on. This week I’ve been recording podcasts for the Presence issue. One of the people I met in Des Moines, Akina Finch, DEIB VP at the International Coaching Federation, joined me as a guest. She wrote an amazing article on presence for the issue, and our conversation picked up right where her piece left off.
If you haven’t ordered the Presence issue or a subscription yet, head to choice-online.com. To watch or listen to our podcast, Beyond the Page, go to choice-online.com/podcast, or find us on Apple Podcasts and the usual places.
Good to be back. Good to be home. And good to have seen everybody.
