Proof of the importance and power of face-to-face networking
I am still on cloud 9 after being in Cleveland last week at the ICF (International Coach Federation) Midwest Regional Conference where I was amongst so many awesome coaches and friends.
I am sure it does not come as a surprise that it was a big hug-fest!
Such a great reminder that face-to-face networking really Rocks for building a small business.
And I am not just saying that because we were in the Rock and Roll Music Capital of the world!!
In my opinion, one of, if not THE best, way to build a small business, is by networking.
Nowadays most people think it is mainly by using social media and other virtual means.
But there is nothing like good old fashioned face-to-face networking to let people get to know, like and trust you. Not to mention the energetic and life altering charge it gives me when I am ready to be there.
This year I had the good fortune to serve as a member of the vendor development and support committee where I was able to help make the vendor experience one that they will never forget.
It was so great to see my friends and fellow sponsors like Janet Harvey & Debbie Roadruck of The Paper Room Institute, Marcy Nelson-Garrison & Rick Garrison of Coaching Toys (Marcy is also a long tine columnist of our ‘coaching tools’ column), Angie Feehan, Marita Fridjhon, Faith Fuller of CRR Global, and so many more old and new friends.
I am normally the kind of person who can live and work from home from dawn to dusk.
Sometimes I need to have the live interaction and restorative powers of being with like-minded people.
The power of face-to-face networking still amazes me.
I made more connections, sold more subscriptions, and set up and closed more advertising than I ever have.
That is why Cleveland Ricks!
